Suspended and illuminated ceilings are a major focus of DIY Plastics, since we have long recognised the capacity to transform a room that a “Lumite” suspended ceiling possesses.
The amount of light present in a room is perhaps the greatest contributing factor to its overall appeal. Illuminated ceilings greatly boost a room’s light levels because they can produce light uniformly across the whole room, rather than emitting it outwards from a single central bulb. Suspended and illuminated ceilings also ensure that all this extra light is being cast over attractive interior features by helping to hide unsightly pipes and walls.
The panels of these suspended and illuminated ceilings are an attractive addition to any room in their own right. DIY Plastics is proud to stock a wide range of these to suit any interior design scheme, such as Polystyrene panels with Crushed Ice or Prismatic patterns (both of which are available in Opal or Clear colours), as well as “Louvre” open lattice patterned panels and more straightforward white acoustic panels.
As well as contributing in such a big way aesthetically, suspended and illuminated ceilings can also boast many practical advantages. They remove the need for decorating and are easily fitted yourself, since the ceiling frameworks are designed to be ‘loose-laid’ and so square up as the panels are inserted, meaning no complicated cutting or measuring. Furthermore, the various panel types may be used on their own or in combination with each other to meet individual practical needs. For instance, “Louvre” panels let air through for extra ventilation, whilst the white acoustic panels reduce condensation and heat loss, so a combination of the two in your suspended and illuminated ceiling would achieve both.
