| About DIY Plastics |
|
 |
|
The DIY Plastics business was
founded in 1973, from a barn on a farm in Wantage, Oxfordshire. From the
start the company concentrated on plastic sheeting for DIY and home
improvement, offered through a catalogue and supplied by mail order over
the whole of the UK. |
| In the late 1970s and 1980s DIY Plastics opened a
number of regional depots around the country and became more heavily
involved in industrial and wholesale supply of plastics. Towards the end
of the 1980s, however, the decision was taken to "return to the roots" and
concentrate primarily on the retail mail order business that had always
been the core of our activities.
In 1990 we moved our entire business to a large warehouse
in Faringdon, on the Oxfordshire/Wiltshire border. DIY
Plastics (UK) is now a branch of Till & Whitehead
Ltd. (http://www.tillwite.com/) and now trades from York. |
 |
In nearly 30 years in the plastics business much has
changed, but the company's key objectives remain exactly the same as in
1973:-
-
To offer a
comprehensive range of quality plastic
products, many of them hard to find
elsewhere.
-
To provide
reliable nationwide home delivery of everything
we sell.
-
To give
expert and knowledgeable advice about all our
products, and friendly and personal service before, during and after a
customer's order. |
